Easy Dirt and Worms Creepy Halloween Recipe

October 25, 2019 by Wendy

Dirt and Worms Creepy Halloween Recipe

Grab the kids to help you make this Dirt and Worms Creepy Halloween Recipe!

I’m really in to coming up with fun, and gross out factor foods for Halloween this year, I’ve been browsing around online and watching youtube videos with my little girl (who loves to cook).

Over the weekend we came across a really neat recipe for Dirt & Worms using Hot Dogs and Black Beans. Together, those didn’t really sound too appetizing, so I tweeked the directions a bit, and decided on something I knew would taste pretty good ..a Beany Weenies (beans and wieners) type of dish.

Let me tell you, it tastes really good, and the creepy foods factor is strong with this one!

Check out the recipe below, and give it a try. It’s really easy, and cost just a few dollars to make!

Mice Krispy Treats

November 10, 2014 by Wendy

Mice Krispy Treats

My little girl, and I decided to come up with a fun post Halloween recipe to creep everyone out, We had a box of of Cocoa Pebbles we needed to get through, and just so happened to of had a bag of marshmallows hiding away in the back of one of my cabinets. So we knew we were making some cereal treats!

At first we were going to mold them into something to do with poo, but we had just put together a nice poo filled Kitty Litter Cake (see recipe) the week before. The brown color of the chocolate cereal reminded me of mice, and I realized how easily you could mold their shape. And so our Mice Krispy Treats were born!

We really enjoyed ourselves putting this one together! Adding all of the little features kind of gives each of them their own personality. These are a tasty addition to our recipe collection for sure! Check out the recipe below, and give it a try yourself!

Description

For Halloween, or anytime, these Mice Krispy Treats are a fun twist on the classic Rice Krispie Treats that everyone loves!

Ingredients

Scale
  • 5 cups of Cocoa cereal
  • 1/2 stick butter
  • 1 bag of mini marshmallows
  • Bag of Tootsie Rolls
  • Handful of mini chocolate chips
  • Chocolate Icing
  • Marshmallow Cream
  • A handful of whole or pre-sliced almonds
  • Pan spray
  • Cake pan or container (9″X13″)

Instructions

  1. Spray the bottom, and sides of your Pan – set aside
  2. Melt Butter in a deep Pot
  3. Add in Marshmallows and stir around until they have melted completely
  4. Add in Cocoa Cereal, and mix until it is completely coated
  5. Quickly dump your Cereal mix into your pan, and spread out evenly
  6. Allow to cool for about 15 minutes then cut into squares about the size of how big you want your mice to be
  7. Spray hands lightly with cooking spray
  8. Remove a square, and roughly mold into the shape of a mouse using your hands
  9. When finished place on a tray, and repeat with the rest of the treat squares
  10. Remove Tootsie Rolls from wrapper, and roll in hands to make mice tails, and short whiskers
  11. Lift up the treats, and place the tails by pressing the candy into the treat
  12. Use small dollops of Marshmallow Cream for eyes, and add a mini chocolate chip to each
  13. Add a small amount of chocolate icing to the nose area, place on your whiskers, and add more icing on top to finish the nose.
  14. Slice your almonds, and stick just above the eyes to make the ears
  15. Place your mice on a decorative tray, and adjust the tail away from the mouse body for a nice effect
  16. Place in the refrigerator until serving

Notes

Idea: Instead of using tootsie rolls for the whiskers, cut black licorice whips – much easier!

Halloween Monster Mouth Treat

October 20, 2014 by Wendy

Halloween Monster Mouth Treat

I’ve been looking for some really cool and fun HEALTHY treats for my kiddos this Halloween. Since my kiddos are still pretty young (one being almost 2 years old and another being 3 years old) I’ve been trying to get them to eat their fruits and veggies and overall getting them to enjoy some healthy snacks rather than sugary junk food snacks.

Halloween, of course, is all about the sweet treats and the piles of candy we get trick or treating. So to balance all the sugary goodness they will get on Halloween, I decided to try and find some healthy and really fun Halloween snacks they can also indulge in and I won’t feel bad giving these treats to them.

I found this REALLY cute snack idea using only 3 simple ingredients and it’s a snack my kids really enjoyed and got a kick out of!

If you’re looking for a healthy, entertaining, simple snack idea for your kids this Halloween, then check out the recipe below and try it out!

Description

You can use any type of apple you wish. You can also make as many of these mouths as you wish. These are perfect as a cute snack for a Halloween party!

Ingredients

  • Red or Green Apples (you can use any type you’d like and any amount you’d like)
  • Peanut Butter (I used about a tablespoon on each apple slice)
  • Mini Marshmallows (about 4-5 mini marshmallows per mouth)

Instructions

  1. Wash and cut your apples into slices. I used 1 apple and got about 4 mouths, so you can use as many apples as you would like. I used an apple slicer which worked great!
  2. Take about a tablespoon (or more or less on your preference) of peanut butter and spread on two apple slices.
  3. Position your apple slices so that the color (lips) are facing out.
  4. Place 4-5 mini marshmallows on one of the apple slices on top of the peanut butter.
  5. Take the other peanut butter covered apple slice and place it peanut butter side down on stop of the apple slice with the marshmallows. The peanut butter will stick to the other peanut buttered apple slice and you will then have your Monster Mouth!
  6. Serve and watch your child’s reaction!

Halloween FeetLoaf ~ Best Meatloaf Recipe with a Gory Twist

What in the world is Halloween FeetLoaf? Ha! Of course, it’s a fantastic and fun meal for Halloween. In other words, it’s perfect for parties or any time.

My mom makes the BEST meatloaf I’ve ever had. Coincidentally, she uses the Heinz Ketchup recipe! And, it’s pretty easy to make! So, Halloween FeatLoaf uses that recipe. And, makes it a little extra fun. I was so glad when she shared her secret! Because, that meant I could make it too!

Now, you can make it yourself at home. As a result, you need to try this meatloaf for everyday meals. Or, make it for Halloween with this gory twist in presentation: the Halloween FeetLoaf!  Because, your trick-or-treat Halloween party will be complete with this scary main dish!

Like it? RePIN it on Pinterest!

Again, the recipe below is tried and true but if you have a different recipe for meatloaf, that’ll work too!

To create Halloween FeetLoaf, prepare your meatloaf and shape into two “feet” on a baking pan.  Cut onions for toenails and ankles and then drizzle the piquant sauce (the extra red sauce for top) on top of ankles to make them look severed. It’s delightfully disgusting!!  And, so yummy!

Fun-Size Chocolate Chunk Pan Cookies Recipe (Leftover Halloween Candy)

November 13, 2013 by Wendy

Fun-Size Chocolate Chunk Pan Cookies Recipe (Leftover Halloween Candy)

My daughter and I had a blast baking cookies “from scratch” tonight. I used to bake all the time, when I was a kid. I have fond memories of hanging out at my grandmas’ and great-grandmas’ houses when they were creating something masterful in the kitchen. All of them were amazing cooks. This is the time of year to bake, after all, the Holidays are right around the corner. (I can’t believe Thanksgiving is two weeks away!) So, I had this brainstorm tonight.  We should make cookies!  Since we didn’t have chocolate chips on hand, I thought… We should use the leftover Halloween candy we didn’t pass out, to make cookies!

I have always been a HUGE fan of the Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip cookie recipe. I’m old enough to remember when they first came out with Tollhouse PAN cookies, and what a fantastic treat they were when I was a kid.

This Original NESTLÉ® TOLL HOUSE® Chocolate Chip Pan Cookie is more like a brownie but it has all the rich flavors of Toll House cookies. So skip the spooning and cut up a batch today! Great for all occasions.

Basically, we used the same recipe but substituted Nestle Toll House Chocolate Chips for chopped up fun-size Three Musketeers candy bars. They didn’t stay in tact like a chocolate chip would, so there’s no defined chips in the cookies.

Mr. Gimmie says they are “scrumptious.” (He ate three!) He didn’t actually notice there were no chocolate chips. He noticed the chocolate taste, which was sort of marbled throughout rather than concentrated in one place. They are really good!

My little girl said they are “yummalicious” (I’m guessing at the spelling of that!) We had a great time baking together this evening. Wholesome family fun. 🙂
