The Golden Gate

1.25 oz. Bulleit Rye
0.5 oz. blackberry syrup
2 dashes bitters
Add ingredients to an ice-filled rocks glass. Stir and serve.

Keep Pounding Punch

Serves 25

Ingredients:
750 ml. Bottle of George Dickel Rye
10 oz. Lemon Juice
5 oz. Ginger Syrup
15 oz. Sparkling Water
7 tbsp. Simple Syrup
Muddled Raspberries
Muddled Mint leaves

Directions:
Mix ingredients in punch bowl, add muddled fruits, chill and serve with ice.

 

Dab On ‘Em Wings

Ingredients:

.3 cup Crown Royal Canadian Whisky®
.3 cup Honey
.25 cup Soy sauce
2 Tablespoons Thai chili sauce
1 packet (0.75-ounce) stir-fry seasoning
2 teaspoons crushed garlic
4 pounds chicken wing drumettes
3 scallions (green onions), finely chopped (optional)
.25 cup chopped peanuts (optional)

Directions:
In a large bowl, combine whisky, honey, soy sauce, chili sauce, stir-fry seasoning, and garlic. Add drumettes, tossing to coat. Cover with plastic wrap and marinate in refrigerator for at least 3 hours, preferably overnight.

Set up grill for direct cooking over medium-high heat. Oil grate when ready to start cooking. Let drumettes stand at room temperature for 30 minutes. Place on hot, oiled grill. Cook for 12 to 18 minutes or until cooked through, turning occasionally. Transfer chicken to a platter. Sprinkle with chopped scallions and peanuts (optional).

 

Orange Crush Punch

Serves 6

Ingredients:
9 oz. CAPTAIN MORGAN® Coconut Rum
9 oz. Orange juice
6 oz. Cranberry juice
3 oz. Ruby red grapefruit juice

Directions:
Combine all ingredients including Captain Morgan Coconut Rum in a pitcher and stir.

 

Bucking BBQ Bites

Chicken Recipe

Ingredients:
Nonstick cooking spray
2 boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut into 1-inch cubes
8 oz. (half pound) bacon, cut into thirds
1/2 cup Spicy Sweet BBQ Sauce (recipe below)
Toothpicks

Instructions: Preheat oven to 300 degrees. Line a large baking sheet with aluminum foil. Spray lightly with cooking spray. Wrap each chicken piece with a small strip of bacon. Secure with a toothpick and place on the baking sheet. Brush with BBQ sauce. Bake for 15 minutes. Remove pan from oven, brush bites with more BBQ sauce, and return to oven. Bake for 15 more minutes. Serve warm.

Sauce Recipe:

1 1/2 cups brown sugar
1/2 cup chile sauce
1/2 cup Captain Morgan® Original Spiced Rum
1/4 cup low-sodium soy sauce
1/4 cup ketchup
1/4 cup Worcestershire sauce
2 garlic cloves, crushed
1 teaspoon ground dry mustard
Ground black pepper, to taste

Instructions: Combine all ingredients in a medium saucepan over low heat. Bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer 30 minutes, or until thickened as desired. Stir occasionally. Use immediately as you wish, or store in refrigerator until ready to use.

Scary Eye Deviled Egg Halloween Appetizers

Looking for a unique appetizer for your Halloween party?  “LOOK” no further!  These Scary Eye Deviled Egg Halloween Appetizers are a great alternative to candy! They’re inexpensive, easy to make and taste great too!

When determining how many you’ll want to prepare, remember that you’ll get two of these creepy “eyes” from each egg.  I used 12 eggs; you can adjust the eye filling recipe if you use more or less.

Cost breakdown: This recipe calls for a dozen eggs (you can use less), which I got on sale for $1.50.  I had the food coloring, and only used a few drops. I also bought an avocado for $1, but had the mayo, lemon juice and horseradish & hot sauce (which are optional anyway). I had a can of black olives, and you only use a few, so that cost is also negligible. So in total I got 24 Scary Eye Deviled Eggs for approx. $2.60! That means they cost about 10 cents each! This is literally like Martha Stewart on a dime! lol!

How to assemble your Scary Eye Deviled Egg Halloween Appetizers:

  1. Hard boil desired amount of eggs. For easy instructions on how to make THE PERFECT hardboiled egg, click here.
  2. Let eggs cool and peel off the shells
  3. Cut each egg in half, being careful to not break or tear the egg white
    TIP: don’t use a serrated knife because it leaves marks on the eggs…found that out the hard way!
  4. Scoop the cooked egg yolk into a medium sized bowl and set aside
  5. Optionally, make light scratches on the cut surface of the egg to make it look creepier.
  6. Now it’s time to “stain” the cooked egg whites. In a large glass, add 1 cup of water (enough to cover the half egg white) and add food coloring of your choice (I used green & purple together).  Start by adding a few drops at a time, experiment to get the color you like best.  You can make up different colors in more glasses and add colors to existing glasses to change it up.
  7. Use a spoon to drop each egg white half into the colored water mixture, and let soak. Check it every few seconds and use a fork to remove when it becomes a color you like. Place the egg on a plate.  If your egg gets too dark, you can rinse it off with water.
  8. GREEN EYE FILLING:  Now, mix the cooked egg yolks (I used 12 eggs, if you use more or less adjust recipe accordingly) with 1 avocado, peeled and pitted.  Add 2 tsp. lemon juice, 1/4 cup light mayonnaise, 1 Tbsp. horseradish sauce (optional).  Optionally, add green food coloring to get desired color. I used a food processor. Blend until smooth.  Add salt & pepper to taste.
    EASIER METHOD: you can just stain the cooked yolks green with food coloring
  9. A more precise way to get the filling into the eggs is to use a zip lock bag.  Fill the bag with the green mixture, snip a small corner off, and squeeze the mixture into each egg.
    EASIER METHOD: scoop smooth egg yolks into the whites with a spoon
  10. Fill each of the eggs generously with the green mixture.
  11. Once the eggs are filled, you can strategically place one black olive slice on top to make it look like an eye.
  12. Last, if you like hot sauce, you can make these into bloody eyes for an even scarier effect!

Another fun (and super easy) idea:  let your kids draw cute and scary faces on the extra hard boiled eggs!

1 Minute Cinnabon Waffles

This is the fastest, easiest, most DEEEEEELICIOUS breakfast one could ever hope for! Seriously, amazing! Perfect amount of cinnamon and waffle, and soooo easy!  My husband was so impressed, he almost didn’t believe how easy it was!

Just pop open a tube of cinnamon rolls, and plop them on a hot waffle iron. Before you know it, voila! They’re so good!
